Our online program specializes in providing guided independent study and personalized learning programs for students who need an alternative to traditional education. How does Opportunities For Learning (OFL) get you to high school graduation?
FLEXIBILITY
Personalized schedules allow you to balance academics with responsibilities outside of school. Classes can be taken live or on your own time.
CREDIT RECOVERY
Need to catch up on credits? At OFL, you can pick up where you left off and work remotely on course material year-round.

While anyone age 19 or under is welcome at Opportunities For Learning, our programs are designed for the student who needs to make up failed courses, wants to work at a faster pace to graduate early, or requires a flexible schedule so they can work, help a member of the family, or pursue personal interests.

Every OFL student is provided access to workforce preparation programming, including Career Technical Education (CTE) classes, job fairs and networking events, soft skill workshops (ie. resume building and interviewing strategies), and internship opportunities.

Is OFL free?
Yes! OFL online is completely FREE for students.
I heard there are free travel opportunities. Is that true?
Yes! Opportunities For Learning partners with Pathways Travels to provide travel experiences that are 100% free to students. Trips vary by OFL location but may include a college tour, a farm in Northern California, a ranch in Colorado, Washington D.C., Italy, Cuba, Ireland, and more! Be sure to ask which trips are being offered at your OFL location when you get in touch! Student enrolled in the online program are eligible to participate.
What platforms are used for the online program?
OFL uses Edmentum for the online learning program and Zoom for virtual student-teacher appointments. When students enroll in the online program, we'll assist them in getting properly set up.
Which OFL programs and activities are open to online program students?
Students who participate in the virtual program are also eligible to participate in all the programs offered by OFL including experiential learning trips, and the sports program.
Is the diploma received at Opportunities For Learning the same as a diploma received at a traditional high school?
Yes. Opportunities For Learning is a WASC-accredited public school approved by the California State Board of Education and meets or exceeds all high school graduation requirements.
Are there admission requirements?
The OFL online program accepts any student who meets all three of these requirements:
(1) is between the ages of 14-19
(2) is not enrolled in an equivalent educational program, eg. another public high school
(3) resides within the county or a contiguous county of the OFL location’s chartering school district
